Recent news about rapper 50 Cent and Bitcoin has made readers perk up. We\u2019ve all been hit with the disparaging comment \u201cIf you invested in Bitcoin back in ______\u201d. Maybe we\u2019ve even been that guy. We\u2019ve heard the Bitcoin success stories. The oversold pizza tragedy. The \u201cI lost my password\u201d stories, and more. They have quickly become old and passe. <\/span><\/p>\n

50 Cent, the famous rapper had a genius idea back in 2014. He let fans purchase his album \u201cAnimal Ambition\u201d with Bitcoin. Bitcoin was \u201conly\u201d worth $662 at the time and fans only had to pay a mere fraction of a single Bitcoin. The sales from that album campaign were over $400,000. Not bad, but nothing to write home about either. <\/span><\/p>\n

But as we all know, Bitcoin has soared in value since 2014, with <\/span>2017 alone showing record climbs<\/span><\/a>. And the best part, 50 admits he forgot he even had it. That means he never cashed out of his 700 Bitcoin, an estimated $7-8.5 million dollars. <\/span><\/p>\n

Add 50 Cent to the list of crypto-genesius\u2019 out there – 50 Cent and Bitcoin are now a thing. <\/span><\/p>\n

50 Cent confirmed the report on his <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Twitter<\/span><\/a> accounts. He said, \u201cNot bad for a kid from South Side, I\u2019m so proud of me.\u201d He even later <\/span>admitted<\/span><\/a> through a comment, \u201cIma keep it real, I forgot I did that shit lol.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

50 is lucky that he remembered his Bitcoin login info. If not, he\u2019d join the illustrious ranks of all the other would-be millionaires <\/span>who forgot their account info<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, 50 Cent and Bitcoin become another of the success stories, and the rapper looks like a genius in the process. That Bitcoin investment paid off over 7 million times. <\/span><\/p>\n

Many cryptocurrency enthusiasts jumped at the opportunity to welcome him to the community. And they were sure to give their own fifty cents on how he should use some of those Bitcoin to invest in other cryptocurrencies<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

With Bitcoin value dropping in recent weeks, it\u2019ll be interesting to see if 50 keeps his same tactic and leaves Bitcoin alone. Or, he could unload now while the value is still relatively high.<\/span><\/p>\n
